Unstrung heroes

Postby Adrian Coleman » July 28th, 2016, 11:55 am

Hello.
I have some new reading material to help me through my boring night shift . Recomended via another site known to us.
"Unstrung heroes" is a book containing fifty guitar greats we should know.
Obviously we know Ian and there are several other familiar names in there.
But on a quick flick through looks good. :D

Hello.
Sorry for the delay. I'm still in nightshift mode at the mo. :dizzy:
Starts off by saying that SAGA is one of the greatest bands to ever come out of Canada. Well we already knew that. :D
A brief history of SAGA follows and on to an interview with Ian from January 2015.
Talks about influeneces, guitars he uses and style of play.
A recommended solo to listen to follows every guitarist and in Ian's case the author prompts " Catwalk " extended version.
No doubt this will be open for discussion with us all
I've learnt that Ian had a big birthday the other week and also the name of his cat. :D
ALL in all I'm still wading through and there are some great players in the book. Some surprise inclusions and maybe a few surprise exclusions.
A good addition to your book shelf.
