
When not touring or recording with the band, Michael enjoys performing with various artists aboard floating musical havens Cruise to the Edge, and their sister ship, On The Blue Cruise.
Appearing at last year’s Progstock Festival, Michael and son Seren debuted fresh prog metal music by their new band serengazer, alongside co-founders Paul Bielatowicz, Matt Dorsey and Jimmy Keegan. Release of their first album happening sometime 2026 as they return to Progstock Festival 2026
Born in Wales and raised in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, Sadler currently resides with his wife and son in the United States. Michael survived cancer surgery in late 2024 and has paused tours with SAGA while he continues to regain strength and stamina. In April 2026, the band announced a select group of shows in Canada with Sadler, Crichton & Gilmour with a new line-up.
As a highly versatile vocalist and musician, Michael has performed hundreds of live shows and appears on various releases, with over 230+ credits and counting. Although the majority of his work is with SAGA, Michael “plays well with others” and has greatly enjoyed sharing the stage or studio with such superlative talents as:
